Despite closures in 2022, Country View Family Farms was still experiencing positive Mhp tests, resulting in the need for additional intervention.
Country View Family Farms engaged Zoetis to help. After working together to assess intervention options, it was determined that an elimination program, rather than a control program, would be most effective.
Working collaboratively throughout the process, they assessed key operational and financial implications and labor availability, using the data to develop and communicate a customized road map for elimination, including timing, diagnostics, key events, and medications.
After site closures and allowing time for exposure, the team—temporarily supplemented by Zoetis—conducted post-exposure gilt testing and mass vaccinations, as well as pre-medication testing that determined whether any adjustments needed to be made to medication and timing.
